By accessing or using MASTERMIND Council ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

MASTERMIND Council is an AI-powered service that allows users to interact with simulated historical figures in a council format. All responses are generated by artificial intelligence and are not actual communications from historical figures.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Subscription and Billing

The Service offers both free and paid subscription tiers:

  • Free tier: 3 council sessions per month
  • Pro tier: $9/month for unlimited sessions

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Refunds are not provided for partial months.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or copy the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the Service in a manner that could damage, disable, or impair it

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by MASTERMIND Council and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Conversations you generate using the Service belong to you.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies and should not be relied upon as professional advice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MASTERMIND Council shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

  • Account Information: Email address and authentication credentials (managed by Clerk)
  • Usage Data: Council sessions, questions asked, and conversation history
  • Payment Information: Billing details processed securely through Stripe (we do not store credit card numbers)
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, and usage patterns

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the Service
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send important Service-related communications
  • Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience
  • Prevent fraud and ensure Service security

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use:

  • Clerk for authentication and user management
  • Neon for database hosting
  • Stripe for payment processing
  • Anthropic for AI model access

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Service providers necessary to operate the platform (Clerk, Stripe, Anthropic)
  • Law enforcement when required by law

Your council conversations are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Review Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com for details on their data handling.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Export your conversation history
  • Opt out of marketing communications

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information and conversation history as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. International Users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you are accessing from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US.
